I HAVE A K5 MARKED AS A K6 PER VIN# MADE IN 9/74

(Bonney Lake, WA. USA)

I BOUGHT A K6 THAT TURNED OUT TO BE A (COMPLETELY) EARLY K5 WITH REAR BRAKE ON LEFT HANDLEBAR AND FACTORY PAINTED MARS ORANGE. TOE SHIFT DOWN FOR HIGHER GEARS NOT UP AS VIN INDICATED.

TITLE SAYS IT IS A CT90K6 VIN# CT90-1606---. DATA PLATE IS ON THE FORK TREE AND MATCHES THE FRAME STAMPING.

Some photos would be great!

This is the perfect example of they way titling of old bikes worked. Dealers got a shipment of bikes with an MSO but titles were not issued until the bikes ere actually sold.

So a Honda dealer receives a shipment of 30 CT90s in 1974 and doesn't sell them all. The leftovers are sold in 1975 & titled as 1975 CT90 K6s.

It can make for some challenging identification issues.
