V-Star Tail Light Wiring

Question:

I need a wiring diagram for back lights. I have 2 blue, 2 black, 1 green, 1 brown, 1 yellow wire. I need to known which one is for running lights and brake light. Thanks. {Debra, TX, USA - Yamaha V-Star 1100}

Answer:

According to the wiring diagram of the 1999 and 2000 XVS1100 V-Star models, the wires are as follows.

The tail light uses a blue, a yellow and a black wire. The black is ground. The yellow wire is your brake light and the blue is your running tail light.

The left rear turn signal has a chocolate brown wire and a black wire. The right rear turn signal has a dark green wire as well as a black wire.

Search eBay for XVS1100 V-Star parts and accessories.
