Restored 1964 Tote Gote model # 680 Nova

by Ronald
(Evans)

I have for sale a rare Tote Gote Nova Model 680 This model has the rare and hard to find shaft drive with expanding belt driven pulley (torque converter type). Has been restored everything is original except the engine and the seat.

The engine is a Tecumseh 5 hp. model HS50 with 1"" diameter shaft. that sits in the frame sideways which is the way they came from the factory. (easier for pull starting) the seat was custom made. All the nuts, bolts and washers were replaced with stainless steel ones.

This large frame mini trail bike was mfg. by the Bonham company from 1958-1970 so there hasn't been any made for 42 years now. This is one of the finer examples you will find anywhere in the world.

It had been stored in a garage for the last 35 years when I got it, this bike has never seen rust. It was made in USA with all USA parts.

Short of this restoration being complete is a clutch/ pulley & belt. Asking $495 obo.

by: NOVA II

I may be too late to comment on this but I also wondered why so cheap on the restored 64 nova
did you mean $1495.00 ? It takes a lot time and work to get these old Gotes looking good..
I have a 1964 680 NOVA II Deluxe that I just finished. its very fun to ride and it sure takes you back a few years and brings a lot of smiles
I just need the decals for it to be 100% complete
Thanks,
NOVA II

Low price?
by: KCENDER

Like comments on most of these post, I come late. On the odd chance that you still ck this post or others like you I will add this question. This seems like a really low price for this year. What was your motivation for selling it for such a low price? It looks like a really nice rebuild and although not entirely original, a nice example never-the-less. I own a '61 all original and I'm planning on a strip and repaint. My hope is to get as close to the original paint as possible. I even have the original pp work from the sale. I guess that I'm just curious why so cheap. I see these units for silly prices elsewhere, but would think that somewhere north of $1k would be about right. These are not bikes for everyone, but to those who appreciate them, they are special. Anyway, no offense meant, just curious.
