Replacement Rectifier

Question:

Generic or inexpensive rectifier needed. Are there any in-expensive replacements? {Michael, TN, USA – 86 Honda VFR750 Interceptor}

Answer:

The first place I would look would be eBay. Look for someone selling an OEM NOS or original equipment manufacturer, new old stock part. The Honda OEM part number for your rectifier is 31600-ML7-008.

The same part, sometimes called a regulator or regulator-rectifier, was used on the 1986 VFR700F and F2 Interceptor 700 as well as the 1986 VFR750F Interceptor 750 models.

If one is not available, next I would recommend either Rick’s Motorsport Electrics in New Hampshire or Cycletronics in Alabama.

They sell high quality, aftermarket replacement electronics for motorcycles, dirt bikes and other power sports machines. We have dealt with both of these businesses for years and they are very knowledgeable about what they sell.

  • Rick’s can be reached at 800-521-0277 or through their website.
  • Cycletronics is part of Willie’s Cycles. They can be reached at 800-524-2252 or via their website.
