Question: How can I find out what year my pre-1981 Honda CB750F Super Sport is?

www.motorera.com . This is a great site with photos of Hondas from their inception up through current models. You can search alphabetically or by engine cc.
Scroll down to the 750cc section and click on CB750F Sport. There you will see a short description of each CB750 F SuperSport produced. Each year has a photo and some identifying information such as what color the bike came in, braking system and any unique features. It will also list the
beginning serial or vehicle identification number . Check your VIN against the description.
For example: the 1975 CB750F serial (VIN) number started with CB750F-1000002. The 1976 serial number started with CB750F-2000003. The "-" usually represents a check digit and can be any digit, but because this VIN is pre-81, I think it really is a dash (-).
So if your number is CB750F*1001098, yours is a 1975.
